-REPLY TO SO MANY QUESTIONS IN SOCIAL NETWORK ABOUT THOSE YOUNG PEOPLE OR THE HORRENDOUS CRIMINALS OF 2008-2011 AS MENTIONED IN THE BOOK ‘You’re ordered to rape your sister or be shot’.
The book is a social and political analysis of what really happened during the period studied. It is a heartbreaking story based on true events and the author synthesized his facts from different events and ideas of situations of that moment examining different opinions and critics of Abia State Government in place during that period. It also has opinion of their sympathisers and admirers, their detractors, and then the researchers and analysts after that period. Oral interviews were conducted with owners of business establishments in Aba Town,(A major commercial city in Abia State),villagers in some affected areas and particularly a good number of young people from affected areas who played safe but had terrible views on why some of their unemployed peers allowed themselves to be manipulated by swindlers and some politicians. So many victims or survivors were silently brave to narrate all that happened. An understanding of circumstances that people encounter in their own societies fill them with hope sometimes to fight injustices in such societies. The Abia State Government of that period probably felt after the whole killings and psychological devastation that they failed their own people in saveral areas particularly with insecurity. They were not grown to handling insecurity of such dimension ever since that State was carved out from Imo State.. Those young people who were interviewed felt they escaped the manipulation of some swindlers in government In Abia State,Abuja,& Lagos. These are the Nigerian kind of Mafia Bosses often called four-one-niners. They claimed being safe from such manipulations as unemployed young men because of their strong family upbringing. They claimed that politicians and those that were governing Abia State of that period were the people to be sent to college of leadership and ethics before taking office if such schools existed. They accused them of conspiracies in tribal communities, creation of insecurity at all levels, corruption that has no dimention in any dignified society, ruling through divide, disrespectful to human lives and swallowed all funds which were voted for the State including oil money that were meant to permit the existence of their own people. They closed all gates of higher Institutions for young people or allowed public institutions to rotten away maturing the kids that were t in such Institutions to form gangs or establish
criminal ghettos around communities surrounding such Institutions. The young people claimed politicians used stolen funds to manipulate the police force in such areas and protected themelves only allowing the society to rotten with horrendous crimes. Members of the police force who were not guarding politicians found their way to highways and local roads where they ripped off their own citizens. The politicians realized that something went wrong and also knew their failures right from 1999 when Abia State was created. Some of the young people interviewed claimed that their peers who turned criminals were simply following the footsteps of the adults and leaders automatically though in a sophicated horrendous manner being young people. Some of those young people interviewed also suggested that the rotteness of politicians who represented them inAbuja or in Abia State of 1999-May 2015 is of such dimension that a change in behavioural pattern can only be urshered to their future peers through the building of an ‘Orientation Camp or College’ for all intending Office holders to be quatered for three months to receive trainings and courses to straighten them in ethics and leadership before they can take office as Abuja based or in Abia State Capital and Constituencies. As funny as the opinion of these unemployed young people might appear, Abia State citizens know the truth. There is therefore the need to reorient these young people of Abia State to know that kidnapping, gang-raping, killing or ripping off their own citizens are devilish and that their new Do or Die Philosophy does not end with death alone when they are caught. It will bring miserable existence to any remaining life that will be left for them including permanent disgrace to their respective families. For all they think of their rotten politicians whom they venged by also downing of their own masses, the author feels they should have understood that it is better to ‘leave vengeance to life and karma’. For all the illgotten wealth those politicians take away from their own people, the world say they are still waiting to see any rotten politician become an escapee of karma who can claim to be happy because the natural law of Compensation will cut down branches of their sibling allowing such politicians to live with unhappiness and terrible illhealth till they die into the world of punished souls.
